Each subnet is scored on what a staker, a miner, a buyer, and a newcomer can find out from its own public materials. The rubric measures findability, not quality. Every score links to its evidence, and every subnet opens with a plain-language explainer.
Bittensor is a network of small, independent marketplaces for digital work that share one currency. Think of a trade fair with a hundred booths: each booth runs its own competition, pays its own winners, and sells its own product, but every booth is paid out of one shared prize fund. The fund is TAO, a coin created at a steady rate.
A subnet is one booth. It is a set of rules for a single kind of work: miners do the task, validators score it, and pay flows by score. Each subnet has its own token, and since June 2026 its share of the prize fund follows that token's price, so the market decides which booths get funded.
This index asks one question of the 32 best-funded booths: has the subnet told the people who fund it, work for it, buy from it, and encounter it what it sells, in a place they will look, in five minutes? It scores findability, not quality. Every score links to its evidence, and every subnet page opens with a plain-language explainer. Dotted words open a definition.
